Breastfeeding Booby Traps

Bestforbabies.org has published a great post on the cultural, institutional, and social booby traps moms face when trying to nurse their babies. Of the 70% of moms who start nursing in the hospital after delivery, only 30% continue. Why? Pressure, misinformation, and lack of support from friends, family members, medical professionals, and society.
Nursing can be a challenge to get the hang of, but women are functionally designed to do it, and babies are better off when they have at least some nursing time to benefit from mom’s antibodies.
